🌀 The Hidden Cost of Hustle Culture: When "Grinding" Grinds You Down
We’ve all seen it — the glorified grind. Late nights, skipped meals, inboxes at zero, and the badge of “busy” worn like a medal. Hustle culture tells us that if we’re not exhausted, we’re not trying hard enough. But here’s the truth: it’s not sustainable, and it’s not healthy.
As someone who works in IT and also volunteers as a crisis counselor, I’ve seen firsthand how burnout creeps in quietly — until it doesn’t. One moment, you're productive. The next, you're mentally tapped, emotionally raw, and physically spent. The worst part? Hustle culture convinces us that asking for help or slowing down means we’re failing.
But mental health is productivity. Rest is progress. Saying no is strength.
It’s time we rewrite the narrative. Let's make balance the goal. Let's prioritize wellness alongside our goals. Because success isn't just about doing more — it's about doing well.
